From Rookies to Owners: Matt & Angela Burton Take the May Tournament Director Spotlight
A House Suited 4 All has a pair of rising stars to celebrate this month. Kim Robinson has officially nominated Matt and Angela Burton for the May Host Spotlight, recognizing their journey from first-time players to integral leaders within the league.
Caught by the "Poker Itch"
The Burtons' story with the league began with a simple internet search. Looking for a night out, the couple stumbled upon A House Suited 4 All’s game hosted at Bigsys. It only took a single game for them to get completely hooked.
For Angela, the transition to the felt was a brand-new adventure. She first found her way around the poker table after playing in a local charitable game. According to Robinson, that single charity event was all it took for Angela to catch the "poker itch—hook, line, and sinker!"
Going All-In on the Community
It wasn’t long after they started attending league nights that the regulars noticed something distinct about the couple. Beyond their enthusiasm for the game, Matt and Angela quickly built a reputation for their loyalty, dedication, and constant willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
That helpful nature soon evolved into a much larger role. The pair bit the apple and transitioned from eager players to taking the reins, stepping up as Tournament Directors (TDs) to run a game or two every week.
A Royal Flush of an Investment
Now, just several months after walking into Bigsys for the first time, Matt and Angela have officially gone all-in. They are no longer just players or TDs—they are now part owners of the league.
Their rapid ascent from newcomers to league owners is a testament to their passion for the game and the community they’ve helped cultivate.
"A House Suited 4 All is lucky to have Matt and Ang as part of a great team and league!" > — Kim Robinson
Congratulations to Matt and Angela Burton on a well-deserved spotlight this May!
