Congratulations goes out to Alvin Allen who plays out of the Log Cabin Inn in Campbell, NY. Alvin scratched off a pair of 3's and 7's and sent his card into the league office. He was then drawn for this months winner to get himself qualified for Nationals for the Casino Royale promotion. Congrats Alvin.
Anthony Larocca from the Bold O'Donoghues in East Rockaway and Duane Goodwin from Crossroads Bar & Grill in Lansing New York had a great showing while in Las Vegas at the HPT Dream Package National Championship. Both players placed in the top 30 winning a spot in the FPN private qualifier seat the following day. Unfortunately both came up a bit short in the private qualifier. Duane busted in 6th place just missing out. Both players showed us what poker is all about in New York by showing off their skills.
This past weekend in New York the state championship took place at the Parting Glass in Saratoga Springs. Players from all over the state participated looking to get qualified for the National Championship in Las Vegas. In the end the top eight players would win. They were: Brad Mitchell, Eric Holm, Thomas Murray, Randy Hall, Tim Edmister, Jill Chamberlin, Frank Bauer, and Robert Geier. In the second chance tournament there was one more qualifier in which Christopher Aman took down. Congratulations to everyone!
At the Parting Glass in Saratoga Springs, NY players from all the around the state gathered to see who the new New York champs would be. In the end the top eight would qualifiy for the National Championship. They were Nicholas Rice from the Cato Hotel, Kelly Gerardi from Tankards Tavern, Mike Morrow from McGillicuddy's, Chris Wells from Crossroads, Gary Lackey from Log Cabin Inn, Tyson Evensen from Parting Glass, Anthony Larocca from the Bold O'Donoghues, and Duane Goodwin from Crossroads. Ironically Duane had just turned in a scratchcard with quad five's a week before. He is now double stacked at Nationals. Former NY champ Gary Mell took down the sidegame for a spot in the Nationals to round out the nine.
