We are only days away from possibly crowning a new NATIONAL CHAMPION! The reason why we can't say we will be crowning a new National Champion is because Rob Maier (MN)(pictured) will be in the field. In FPN history we have never had a two time National Champion, however Rob will have the opportunity to not only become the first person to win it twice, but also do it back to back. He’s not the only one that has the opportunity though as former National Champions Joel Smith (MN) and Debbie Boltena (SD) will also be in the field.
Everyone that is coming to Vegas has been invited to our suite on Friday night for some free cocktails from 6-8. They can use the time to unwind before we get after it the next day or to prep for the first chance tournament which starts at the Golden Nuggets poker room at 8pm. It’s a $80 tournament and the longest lasting FPN player will either get put into the National Championship or if they have already qualified will get an additional stack.
The National Championship will start on Saturday, June 2nd with a start time of 12pm/noon Vegas time. There were 153 qualifiers for Nationals and so far we have received about 110 RSVP's confirming they will be in attendance. Those 110 players will be from 16 different states. The last 110 players represent the top 1% of the field remaining that participated in the Game of Cars promotion.
Will the FPN title remain in MN or will another state claim it? Current National Championship count is MN - 9, ND -4, NE -3, SD -2, TX -1, DE -1, and IL -1.
