The
first-ever Nebraska Poker League Championship was held at the American
Legion in Columbus over the weekend...What a tournament! In the
end, a river card would twist the fates of two players from
Columbus. The big winner was Jeff Merrill from Sports Page/American Legion.
Jeff will join the rest of the Free Poker Network winners in the
Bahamas in less than 4 weeks! Congrats to Jeff and all the
Nebraska final tournament participants.

Jeff Merrill took down the state final for Vegas Invasion in Nebraska, becoming the first ever league player to win 2 state titles! Jeff previously won the fall 2006 state title and a trip the Bahamas to play in the WPT Caribbean Adventure main event.
Having already qualified for nationals directly as league champ at Double T's-Sundays, Jeff was already planning his trip to Vegas and a shot at the big prizes at nationals. He topped off a great summer poker league run by taking 1st place in the regional to earn the extra expense money AND the party pass! Well done, Jeff, and congrats to all 9 qualifiers from Nebraska. 7 out of the 9 Nebraska qualifiers were from Columbus.
