Congratulations to Dale Hjelmgren and Justin Lamb from the Outer Limits in New Richmond, Wisconsin as the latest two players to qualify for the Party at the Palms National Championship in Las Vegas!

Pitcher's Pub in Madison, Wisconsin hosted the Party at the Palms State Final this past Saturday, May 9th where the top two players advanced to play on June 28th in the Kingpin Suite at the Palms Casino.  Remember, twenty-one players out of the 50 invited will move on to play in Event #54 on the following day!  Dale Hjelmgren was the overall winner and earned $500 in travel money as well.

All ten players from Don's Market in Franksville showed up in matching league attire and decided to show up early and enjoy lunch together as a league.  It's always nice to see home bar pride at the finals.  As time progressed, despite putting on a great show of poker skills, the final Don's Market player standing was Rick Jackson who was eliminated in 7th place.

The worst beat of the night was when Kurt Olsen from Outer Limits was holding AA and snap called Dale's all in pre-flop with KK.  The turn delivered the killer king for Dale.  Ironically Kurt was the Outer Limits designated driver that night and we are sure there was a lot to talk about on the way home.

When we were down to three players it was a great battle of will as two short stacks had to deal with  Dale and his monster stack.  David Bauer playing out of the host bar Pitcher's Pub was eliminated in 3rd place and we had our winners.

After another round of drinks Dale and Justin decided to play it out and Dale eventually became our Wisconsin State Champion after his Q-10 hand defeated Justin's J-7 when neither player could hit on the flop, turn, or river.
