FAQ's/Troubleshooting/Known Issues
NOTE - The software is in "beta" testing mode which means we are still working on several minor issues. If you experience any problems/errors related to registration and/or gameplay please check the list below to see if that addresses the question. Any suggestions/comments for improvement are welcome but we will not be looking to add to the software until we are sure it meets our expectations for daily use.
Q: I'm getting an 8020 error when I try to register for a tourney?
A: Tourney registration has filled probably due to the fact that some tourneys are being capped at 50 players for testing purposes.
Q: I'm only seeing one card or not able to act when it's my turn?
A: Close the table and re-open to see if that helps. If it does not, close the software completely and re-open to try to fix the problem.
Q: How do I get a Silver Token to play in the "HPT Red Rock Championship"?
A: Silver Tokens are currently being awarded by winning a "HPT Red Rock Qualifier" or "Fall Poker Qualifier" sit-n-go tournament.
Q: How do I earn a Bronze Token to play in a "HPT Red Rock" or "Fall Poker" Qualifier?
A: Bronze Tokens can be earned by winning any league night during
the "Fall Poker Spectacular" promotion. You will then receive a gamecard
from that league and can enter it on the Cashier screen to receive your
"Bronze Token". The winner receives a Silver Token which can be used for entry to the HPT Red Rock Championship Tournament or Fall Poker Championship (scheduled for late fall).
Q: How do I get a Gold Token?
A: Play in any of the Sit-n-Go's that
award gold tokens to the winners to collect and play in various freerolls that will be offered on the website. Most freerolls will require 5-25 gold tokens to play.
Q: When I try to load the software it gets stuck with the message "Updating Graphics files"?
A: You need to configure FPN Online to "Run as
Administrator". Right-click on the "FPN Online" icon on your desktop
and "Run as Administrator" will be one of your menu choices. You can
also go into the properties of the program the same way and find the
check-box to "Run as Administrator" so you don't have to do this every
time.
Q: I use Windows Vista and I can't get the FPN Online software to open properly?
A: You need to configure FPN Online to "Run as Administrator". Right-click on the "FPN Online" icon on your desktop and "Run as Administrator" will be one of your menu choices. You can also go into the properties of the program the same way and find the check-box to "Run as Administrator" so you don't have to do this every time.
Q: The tournament crashed in the middle of play and never restarted, what will happen?
A: Unfortunately, once a tournament crashes we cannot restart it. There will be no prizes awarded for the tournament and it will be voided. If the buyin for the event was a token it will be reimbursed.
Q: Where is my validation e-mail? I don't see it in my inbox?
A: Please make sure to check your "spam" and/or "bulk" folder. If you do not receive a validation email, please double-check your email address and resubmit by clicking the Options menu in the Main Lobby and "change/validate email address". Enter your email address in the Step 1 box and resubmit. If you still do not receive it, send a message to customer service and we will help you validate it.
Q: Can we play for real money?
A: No.
Q: What is the purpose of "Play Money"?
A: As with most online poker sites, we will use "Play Money" for fun play. This includes running various limit and no-limit ring games and tournaments as well as other forms of poker. All new users start with 5000 chips in Play Money.
Q: What if I run out of "Play Money"?
A: Any time a player gets below 1000 they can add more chips. Click on the "Cashier" button in the lower left corner of the lobby to open your Cashier window. Click on "Get Play Chips" and your account will be credited 1000 chips.
Q: How do I register for a tournament?
A: Open the tournament that you are looking to play. There are 2 different tabs - "Tournaments" and "Sit N Go's". Double click on the tournament to open the lobby screen and click the "Register" button.
Q: How do I take my seat in a tournament?
A: For play money games click on any open seat. For tournaments once registration is closed and the tournament is going to start you will automatically be seated. Your table should open and have a button that says "Take my seat". Click on it.
Q: I signed up for a tournament and left my computer for a while, when I came back I was taken out of the tournament. Can I get my Gold/Silver Token/Play Money reimbursed?
A: Unfortunately no. Once you register for a particular tournament it is your responsibility to unregister for that tournament if you will not be able to play. Players are blinded in for a set amount of time before they are removed from each tournament (times vary).
Q: What happens if I lose Internet connection during play?
A: If you are timed out; you will have 30 seconds to log back in. If you are not back in time you be posted and folded until you have logged back in.
Q: While in the middle of a tournament, I was kicked off my table?
A: In multi-table tournaments we are experiencing problems with players sometime being kicked off the table when tables get combined. You must manually find your table in the tournament lobby and open the table to take your seat again.
Q: While trying to sign up a new account it says my e-mail has already been used, why is that?
A: If you get this error message, you have already used your e-mail address to sign up an account. You will NOT be able to use that e-mail address again.
Q: I have an account on FreePokerNetwork.com, but it won't let me login to the FPN Online software, whats going on?
A: Your FreePokerNetwork.com account it is completely separate from our FPN Online software. You will need to create a new account for the FPN Online software.
Q: How do I uninstall the FPN software?
A: Click on your start menu, find the FPN software, click uninstall.
Q: I still can't get the software to open/run/download correctly?
A: Please make sure that your computer meets the minimum requirements for the FPN software.
Q: Does this software work on Macs?
A: Sorry, our software does not run on Mac operating system, we do not have plans for that at this time.
Q: How do I change my avatar?
A: Click on the "Options" menu, click on "Change Player Avatar" and select the avatar to select your player.
