Live updates from the Vegas Motel in Minot for the "Ship It!" championship for the North Dakota region. The top 2 players earned the exclusive cruise packages.
The largest tournament in the Upper Midwest as the Vegas Motel in Minot once again lived up to its billing, with over 1300 players for the 3-day event. Sam Dickson from Oxbox, Saskatchewan was the big winner, taking home $35,000. Not bad for a $100 buy-in charitable event. Sam became the first Canadian to win the tournament which has grown every year. The total purse for this tournament reached $105,000.
Gina Bushey from Mr. Gs in
Fargo,
ND and Thomas Eaglestaff (pictured right in black) playing out of the
Bismarck VFW were two of the final eight players recently at the Vegas Invasion
championship at the Orleans Casino in
Las Vegas. Each player won a $2,500 package to play a World
Poker Tour event or World Series of Poker event.
They grinded all day long through a 94 player field and
ended up at the final table. With the
top eight winning it was only two remaining to be one of the big winners. It was a roller coaster ride for Gina as she
was all in as a short stack, but was lucky enough to survive and be crowned one
of our champions.
