Congratulations to Chris Smith for winning the Colorado region. Chris competed along with eight other players from Hoolies Place in Delta Colorado. After six hours of grueling play at the end of the night Chris had all of the chips. By winning Chris won himself airfare and hotel on the Vegas strip and while in Las Vegas, Chris will join 24 other players from around the country to compete in the Free Poker Network National Championship at Caesar's Palace at the end of April. In all $12,000 worth of buy-ins will be distributed to the 25 players with first place being a $5,000 World Series of Poker circuit event at Caesar's Palace.
The first two of 25 Grand Prize winners from this summers Desert Heat promotion have been awarded. Congratulations to Jim Deuschel (pictured right) from Delta, Colorado as he won the state championship at Hoolie's Bar which was held on Tuesday, August 18th. Jim battled for four hours taking home the first place prize and became the first ever Free Poker Network winner from Colorado! A husband and wife couple Jeff Matthews and Dee Dee Mathews came in second and third, respectively.
The second winner to claim one of the Desert Heat packages was Josh Korbl from Thief River Falls, MN. Josh outlasted a field of 116 players and won the first of two online championships on Sunday, August 23rd. To qualify for the online championships make sure to redeem your Desert Heat gamecards on our online software.
Hoolies Place the newest bar in Coloardo has just wrapped up their first session of the Desert Heat promotion. Congratulations go out to the following players to become the first FPN players to qualify from Coloardo.
Qualifying during the 1 O'clock session are Spike Ranker,Dee Dee Mathews, and Bradley Robertson. Qualifying out of the 7 O'clock session are Jeff Mathews, Jim Deusche, and Tammi Champlin.
There is still time to qualify for the second session. They play on Tuesdays at 1:00pm and 7:00pm.
