10:23 THE CLAY LIPKE SHOW!!! It only took one hand of heads up play to end the contest. Unbelievably, 2 players from Primetime Bar & Grill in Breezy Point, MN, who had played together numerous times in regular league play end up heads up for the national championship. What are the odds? Ryan was down on chips 4-1 and shoved with Q-3, and Clay took a shot at ending the tournament with A-6. The flop was 2-3-5 giving Ryan a pair. The turn brought a 4 giving Clay a seven card straight which closed the deal. The "Destination Las Vegas" champ is Clay Lipke who will be also play in tomorrow's $1,500 event. Clay had a day to remember, after getting off to a great start having pocket aces 3 times in the first three levels. We wish Clay and all of our winners the best of luck in this years WSOP as we know you will represent your league well. Follow the blog tomorrow as we will keep updating the site all day with all of our winners. 10:19: PRIMETIME IS GUARANTEED TO HAVE THIS YEARS CHAMP! Last year
Troy Madsen from Primetime won a seat into the 2007 WSOP finishing just
short of the main event. This year the main event champ will come from
Primetime in Breezy Point MN. Clay knocked out Anthony with 8-9 of
diamonds to Anthony's A-6. Flop of 10-6-4 with two diamonds. The turn
brought a 9 and the river ended it with a 7. Clay crippled Michael Grote from the Underground Saloon in WI. Both were in the blinds. Clay hit two pair on the flop, Michael had a straight draw and a flush draw, but was unable to catch either one. A couple hands later Clay ended Michael's day. Mike had a great tournament and represented WI well. 10:00 PRIMETIME VS. PRIMETIME: Clay and Ryan got after it against each other with a flop of 10-Q-4. Ryan put them all in and Clay made the call. Ryan had J-9 open ended vs. Clay's Q-9 of clubs top pair. The turn bought a K of clubs giving Ryan the straight, but giving Clay the flush possibility. 8 of hearts on the river sealed the deal as Ryan doubled up through Clay. Right now there are four players left (Clay, Ryan, Anthony, and Michael) with all about the same amount of chips. Side note last years two big winners from Minnesota Vinson Anenson who is present at the tournament and Troy Madsen won from there hometown bars Vinson Rusty Nail in Thief River Falls and Troy from Primetime. Right now we have two players from Primetime remaining (Clay and Ryan) and one from the Rusty Nail (Anthony). 9:52 UPDATE: We had a short break for the players to chip up. At that time Clay Lipke was sitting at 120K and next was Anthony Henricks with 68K. After a couple of orbits Dave Chaput who was short stacked moved them all in with A-5 and was called by Ryan Aldrich with K-7. Ryan hit two pair ending Dave's day. 9:00 DOWN TO 5: Anthony Hendricks raised under the gun for 7500 to his immediate left Preston Sweeney moved all in for 14,000 total after going into the tank for a little bit Anthony called showing pocket four's while Preston had pocket two's. No help for Preston and we are down to 5 players remaining gunning for the coveted main event of World Series buy-in worth $10,000. 8:45 DOWN TO 6: Clay Lipke K-Q in another pot vs. Brad Badten A-10. Brad got all his chips in, but unfortunately for him Clay fleted him with the queen on the flop as Brad was unable to catch back up. 8:16 NOISE ALERT: Clay Lipke vs. Preston Sweeney. Flop of 8-2-3 Clay moved all in and Preston called saying, "You are not going to like my hand." Clay flipped over J-J and Preston showed 8-2. The turn brought Preston the full house as another 2 came and the table thought they were going to be shaking Clays hand as he was busted. BUT of course you know what happened the miracle 2 outer Jack on the river giving Clay the higher full house. The poker room busted out in oh's, aw's and wow's. All the cash game players around turned to the see what all the commotion was about. One player even yelled out, "SHIP IT." as the dealer pushed 75,000 in chips back to Clay and short stacking Preston. 8:10 Still at 8, Dave Cheput moved all in against Clay Lipke, Dave had A-K and Clay held A-Q. After it was all said and done the table read 6-7-8-9-10 to chop it up. One hand later Brad Badten moved all in and was called by Clay. Brad held K-J to Clay's QQ's. The flop came with a king and Brad doubled up. 7:45 Tina McNabb busts, we are now down to 8. We were at 11 players when Sean Egstad pushed all in pre-flop, he was called by Michael Grote and with just a little bit less then Sean, Stacy Standford. Sean had 10-J, Michael 8-8, and Stacy held A-J. Flop A-9-10 turn 8 river 9. Michael takes out both Sean and Stacy having both of them covered. Our final table players and chip counts are

2:30pm The tournament is underway and we've completed the first level. Everyone showed up, except Preston Sweeney, who slept in and arrived late. This is a common occurrence in Las Vegas. The nightlife takes its toll... The first player to bust was Michael Roberson (pictured right) from Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Despite the early exit, he says he is having a great time in his first experience in Las Vegas. Most of the players today flew in Friday or Saturday and have had a
chance to check out the Amazon Room at the Rio. Several players
commented having a chance to see many of the big name pros that are
playing. Tonight is the final table of the $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E.
